Echague, Isabela, Philippines
Yogad Technocultura is a digital suite dedicated to keeping the Yogad indigenous language and cultural heritage alive — through interactive learning, stories, and tradition.
About the Yogad People
The Yogad are an indigenous people from the municipality of Echague in Isabela province, located in the Cagayan Valley region of Luzon, Philippines. Their language — also called Yogad — belongs to the Malayo-Polynesian branch and is spoken primarily in Echague and surrounding barangays.
Like many indigenous languages of the Philippines, Yogad faces the pressure of language shift toward Tagalog and English, particularly among younger generations. Oral traditions, folk songs, rituals, and beliefs that form the backbone of Yogad identity risk being lost without active preservation efforts.
Yogad Technocultura was born from the community — built to make the language and culture accessible, learnable, and worth celebrating.
